Sport Camp Programs

Basketball
The intent of this camp is to develop fundamental skills and concepts of the game. Emphasis is placed on the individual in skills sessions. Team games and competitions focus on positive play and team work. All this takes place in an environment that emphasizes fun, discipline and practice. The camps are instructed by a team of qualified coaches and interuniversity athletes.

Soccer
This camp is designed to teach and develop campers with the fundamental skills of soccer and understanding of the game. Campers are grouped based on age, size and skill level and are coached through a well-rounded curriculum by highly experienced coaches and athletes from York's national championship winning program. This camp not only focuses on structured, high level instruction but also on a fun and positive learning experience to develop a life-long enjoyment of active living and the sport of soccer.

Tennis
This camp, ages 8 to 16, runs daily at the Tait Mackenzie Centre and adjacent tennis courts. The program consists of progressive group instruction for beginners, entry level players and players with limited competitive experience. Improvement of tennis skills, game tactics and emphasis on fun are the key components of the camp. The camp will be run under the direction of Michael Mitchell (BBA Level III Tennis Canada Coach), coach of the York University's men's and women's tennis programs.

Track and Field
Our mission is to provide children with the tools needed to develop fundamental skills, fitness and strength to improve and enjoy sports for life. Camp instructors focus on improving the level of fitness of each child and increasing his/her knowledge of different disciplines in track and field. This camp is designed to develop individual talents and interests in addition to personal improvement in an environment that emphasizes fun! We offer a completely 'inclusive' approach to the sport in learning the fundamental skills in the sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws.
